It's been 10 years since a trio of passenger planes crashed into New York's Twin Towers and Washington D.C's Pentagon and a fourth crashed into a field in Shanksville, PA. 10 years since nearly 3,000 people lost their lives. 10 years is a long time. And I remember every minute of my day.
Last year's anniversary, I posted in this blog my memories of 9/11. I'll not bore you with them again but I will share the link at the end of this post. Thinking about those that died today I wonder "What if?"
What if those passengers on United Flight 93 hadn't banded together?
What if they let fear stop them?
What if they hadn't succeeded in bring down that plane?
I shudder to think of what could have happened. How many more lives could have been lost had it not been for those brave men? They knew they were going to die. They chose to go down fighting and went down in history as some of the Heroes of 9/11
I feel for the children who were never able to meet their fathers. The children who lost one or both parents. I still find it hard to watch any of the tribute videos of 9/11 without shedding tears. I don't think I ever will cease to.
We will never forget.
